Program Manager Duties & Responsibilities 

Specific program manager responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation, and delivering every project on time within budget and scope with a focus on packaging and other projects as assigned: 

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects 
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget 
  • Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility 
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation 
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress 
  • Take a data-driven approach to analyze, forecast, and execute on business needs – current and future 
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, timeline, and costs 
  • Measure and be accountable for project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques 
  • Report and escalate to management as needed 
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders 
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors 
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

Program Manager Requirements 

Program managers should have a background in retail, business skills and management, budgeting, and analysis. You should be an excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks. You are curious and eager to learn while being comfortable working autonomously with new tools, data, and objectives. 

  • Great educational background, preferably in the fields of business management  
  • Proven working experience as a project manager preferably in the field of retail / logistic 
  • Solid analytical background, ability to make data driven decisions, and a hands-on experience of how retail stores operate 
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills, including negotiation and project management skills 
  • Possess and use initiative and sound judgement in making complex decisions and recommendations 
  • Exercise a high degree of independent judgement 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills 
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
