EMEA Payroll Specialist
As an EMEA Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the payroll for multiple entities. This includes running payroll reports, coordinating and verifying payroll with external vendors, providing final payroll reports, and ensuring all relevant payments are made in a timely and accurate manner. You will need to maintain relationships with both external payroll vendors and internal stakeholders. In this position, you will be part of a dynamic, humble, and open-minded team based in Amsterdam. The ideal candidate for this position will possess natural intellectual curiosity, strong analytical skills, flexibility, and a desire to drive process improvements.
What You Will Do:
Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including, but not limited to, base salary, payroll taxes, pensions, statutory benefits, and other company benefits.
Be responsible for data validation and resolving discrepancies within tight deadlines.
Manage relationships with various global payroll providers, with a focus on the accuracy and timely receipt of payroll reports.
Address payroll-specific queries from employees.
Stay up to date with local payroll regulations.
Support Finance teams with month-end close and reporting activities.
Assist with various internal and external audits.
Provide payroll feedback and data to support ongoing HR projects.
Respond to tax notices, wage orders, unemployment claims, government correspondence, and verification of employment for international entities.
Who You Are:
A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in an international payroll department.
Hands-on experience with Dutch payroll. Additional knowledge of EMEA, APAC, and NA payrolls is a plus (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, UK, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Canada, USA, Australia, Hong Kong).
Intermediate/advanced Excel skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Fluency in English. Proficiency in Dutch and/or any other European language is a plus.
Experience with Workday and ADP Streamline is a plus.
