As a Tech Lead for our Data Platform team, you will be a key player in revolutionizing how our organization harnesses data to drive growth and innovation. You'll spearhead the development of a cutting-edge, real-time data platform that will empower us to create hyper-personalized customer experiences across all channels. What you will do:
- Architect the Future: Divide your time between technical leadership, designing innovative data architectures, translating complex business needs into actionable technical solutions, and actively contributing hands-on to the team's development efforts.
- Drive Transformation: Own the data engineering roadmap and champion initiatives that push the boundaries of our data landscape, ensuring it remains scalable, efficient, and adaptable to our evolving business needs.
- Empower Collaboration: Partner closely with internal engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership and collaboration in data integration processes. Guide and mentor these teams to become active contributors to the ongoing enhancement of our platform's capabilities.
- Set the Standard: Define and maintain development guidelines, standards, and best practices for data engineering, ensuring the highest levels of quality, consistency, and maintainability in our data solutions.
- Guarantee Performance: Ensure the stability, scalability, efficiency, security, and low latency of our core data infrastructure, including BigQuery (our data warehouse) and Segment (our customer data platform).
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: Continuously stay abreast of the latest advancements in data technologies and trends. Proactively recommend and support technology enhancements that will unlock new capabilities or significantly improve existing ones.
What you will do:

Who you are:
- Experienced Innovator: Bachelor's or Master's degree with 5+ years of data engineering experience, with a proven track record in building transformative data infrastructure and analytics solutions.
- Cloud and Data Expert: Proficient in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery, with hands-on experience in designing and implementing scalable data solutions on this platform.
- Data Management Guru: Deep understanding of data management principles, including data modeling, database design, optimization techniques, and the ability to translate these into practical solutions.
- Inspiring Leader: Demonstrated leadership and exceptional communication skills in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Proven ability to lead technical projects from conception to successful delivery. To be successful in this leading role, we expect you to work the majority of your time from our Amsterdam office.
- Data Enthusiast: Passionate about leveraging data to drive informed decision-making, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Bonus Points: Experience with DBT, (online) retail, and event-driven architectures is highly desirable.
